Arrrhhh Maties.

I recently had the privilege of photographing this beautiful little family. Soooo photogenic and was a lovely little spot to spend the afternoon taking a few pics.
Such a lovely group of people and a great bunch of young adults.

Love this one.

Has been some cracking sunsets here lately. really gorgeous afternoons. I must say though, I've found myself a little exhausted from teaching school all day and then doing stuff for our Marlborough Show in the afternoons, that I've found myself a little exhausted for taking photos.

Why is it always the ugliest horse presents itself to be photographed!

 From my phone:

We made it to a Bluey concert, although it was quite what I expected, but the kids seemed to enjoy it.

Aaaaand, in other news, my not so little man turned 5 this month! I'm not sure where that 5 years has gone. I mean in one sense it feels like it flew and in another sense it feels like forever ago that he was a little baby. We have done so much growing as a family in the past 5 years, in more ways than one.

Mum, G Man and Aunty Ange

We had a pirate party because lately the kids have been going around the house talking like pirates and saying arrrrh maaatttiiieeesss, but ever since the party, they haven't done it once and now we have a surplus of pirate paraphernalia lol.
My grumpy little pirate! Didn't really want to be a pirate.... for once... of course!!! She wanted to be a princess! She's still so cute when she's angry!

This is Kaycee, she was so damn cute!

All the kiddlets. We had 17 all together.

Once all the sugar wore off!

The cake creation.

I was reasonably proud of my efforts.

Shifty looking fellas

He made a pretty good pirate I thought. Perhaps not the best costume for a summer time party though! Got a bit hot poor little dude!

I even got a surprise visit from Aunty Jess, which was so awesome! But very sad that this was the only photo I took! Some photographer I am!

Garrett wanted piklets for breaky.

He also got a "donut" cake which was actually a carrot cake on his actual birthday.

Things here on the home front have been a little stressful lately with our unsuccessful efforts to find ourselves a new home.
We are doing all the right things though, focussing on the things we can control, looking after our health and our personal selves with exercise and good food. Keeping myself focussed on teaching Garrett school and getting ready for our annual show. But sometimes it all gets a bit much and it's nice to take a little time out together as a family, even if it's just a short horse ride to the dam to take the kids for a swim. Just a bit of fresh air can help for a fresh perspective.

And you know, we still love each other, so that's a plus!

Gosh I love the curls on this one when there is a bit of humidity.

Anyhow trendsetters, how have you all been? I have started to read a book called, "The Happiest Man on Earth." I think it's gonna be a good one! I'll keep you posted.

I've been writing in a gratitude journal this year, not every night, but most nights when I think of it. Just 3 things to be grateful for. Most of the time I make it the things that I might not really feel grateful for, for example; I might say I'm grateful for my sore feet. It's not that I'm necessarily thankful for sore feet exactly, but grateful for things like, actually being able to walk/ run, get around and do my jobs compared to someone who might not even have legs (bit overdramatic but I'm just giving an example). Anyhow it's a nice little thing to do before bed and gets me into a nice mindset before sleep and I find myself walking to bed thinking of things that I'm grateful for. Just thought I'd share that one with you.

Rightio, keep it real and take care.
