Life as Usual

I've had a bit of a chance to get out with my camera this month which has been nice. My photo club has the subject of fauna for this month's competition. So I've been taking a few of the many butterflies that are out and about at the moment! I'm pretty happy with the results but I still think that a better macro lens is on my wish list!

The above is 5 images of a butterfly flapping its wings that I blended together.

I love this one.

These ones were the prettiest but they weren't very keen to sit still for me!

They seem to like the one zinna that I have, that has come up on its own. Love these shots.

This was the coolest fungus but I couldn't get my macro to capture it well enough to stitch it. Need more practise.

So we had some rain, as I told you in my last post. It has left halfway creek with a beautiful little run in it and the kids and I love to go down there in the afternoons and have a splash in the crystal clear, running water.

It has slowed a fair bit now since I took this photo, but it's still running and lovely and warm where it's shallow.

Loved watching this big storm front go over, but as always I was a bit time poor and so I couldn't get any more different compositions.

Some days, the sky just turns it on doesn't she!!

The above photo is correct and the below photo is reversed in photoshop and it spins me out!

The big fella and I ventured up to Townsville for a quick visit and took the opportunity of having some kid free time, to go on a date.

We went to "Jam" and omg, the food was to die for! I would have taken more photos, but it was eaten for I thought to take any! Sooo yum and I don't even really like tiramisu!

I bought myself another Hawaiian shirts because "I've got too many Hawaiian shirts!" said NO ONE EVER

Sunrise from our hotel room. It was a cracker!

This was a wild hibiscus. Just growing like this, out in the paddock!

My kids have got it good hey!

We also have a new member in our family! Meet "skip" (original I know). Someone loves "my baby" a lot!!!!

Wet weather means we can do the jobs that have been neglected for a while like greasing our saddles.

The big fella and I also made it to 11 years of companionship and celebrated with the kids down the creek going fishing! Kaka and I were fishing with dad's bait-caster and as the fish took the hook, kaka got a fright and dropped the rod and despite my efforts to go in after it...... it was gone!!!! However..... the next day, we had some friends come up fishing and one of them hooked it!!!! How amazing!! So that was a stroke of luck and obviously the reason why I didn't win the 60 million last night!

Nibbles by the creek...... until the bugs came and swarmed us and chased us all the way home!

Gorgeous fish!

I know it's just grass seed but I always think that this red natel is so pretty.

Off exploring on an adventure

My shortcut cheesecake! So quick and easy and the kids love it!

The puppies are getting bigger and more adventurous by the day and someone always takes a fair bit of convincing to leave them alone and give them back to their mother.

Last weekend we went on our first family ride together and it was really lovely. Kids loved it, although poor kaka was a bit noddy by the end. G man was keen beans and the "Mack Mare" never put a toe out of line which was great!

A girl and her horse! "Baby Blue"

So I bought this massaging thing online and omg, it's got to be my best online purchase ever! So great for my painful hip! The kids love it too but and always climbing up on the table asking for a massage!

Finally got around to making my jewellery hanger that I've had as a project idea for ages! I love how it turned out.

I felt like honey cake and googled a recipe and I was delighted with how it turned out. YUM

This is what we eat like when there's been fresh grocery shop!

Someone wants to ride their pony I think!

How much does this cloud look like a fish!

You know I reckon that I could be an agent for air fryers. They just do such an amazing job! I reckon everyone should have one. This lamb was perfect!!

Helping mum and dad fix the flood crossings.

Loves her "skip"

We have finally gotten around to doing a killer and while we wont have all the people here that we were supposed to have helping us cut it all up, it is very lovely to have some fresh meat in the coldroom. Can't wait to get it in my belly!

So I've been listening to Runaway June a bit lately and this is one of their songs that I like called Head Over Heels

Also I'm just about finished listening to "12 Rules for Life" which is amazing. Sometimes it's a bit over my head, mainly because I'll be listening to it and then I drift off thinking about something else and then I've completely lost what he's talking about. But there is still a lot of great stuff in there.

So I don't think I could write a post without talking about COVID 19, as that is all everyone and every channel and everything you look at, at the moment is talking about! I must say that being out here, nothing much has really changed for us! I mean we are a bit more cautious when we went into town to collect groceries and I've found that I've got a bit more time on my hands now as our show has been cancelled of which I was the secretary for. But apart from that it's business as usual for us. We won't be having any guest over Easter as we had previously planned. But what's one Easter really? I'd love to know when this is all going to blow over! I'd love to know when I should buy some shares! Wouldn't it be good to have a crystal ball!

I just hope that everyone is safe and well supplied and if there is anything that you need. Let me know. I will try my best to help in anyway possible. I'm only a text or a phone call away. Sending out lots of love to everyone.
