Show time again!

It's that time of year again when I start to do a little baking and try to decide which of my many photos I like best to put in the Marlborough show. I had a wonderful helper as you can see, who was my chief taste tester, alas we did not win any prize for our prune cake however it did make the most money at the auction but I'm not sure if it counts when it was my darling husband that bought it. I got a couple of places for my photos though, so I was pleased with that.

In the lead up to the show, there were calves to be branded and while we were't much help, G-man was amused for a while.

He desperately wanted to help!

G-man has been chasing this guy around my garden for some time and I managed to get a couple of photos. I think he's quite pretty.

If it's not half obvious by now, I'm pretty in love with this little guy!

The Marlborough Show this year was another cracker and it always makes for a lovely weekend. I was amazed at how many stalls there were this year and we seemed to have a lot of people.

Lou and Justin doing a bit of Stewarding.

Coolee Snr, but I'm not too sure who he was leading here.

They look like they are playing cross words!

My gorgeous girl Jamie!!

Bangers doing a bit of back yard work!

Had to test out my new lens, this is Steph Olive, doing a few good moves!

These photos crack me up!! "I'm not looking, I'm not looking".

Love this one of Steph.

G-man found his new Xmas present!! Hint, hint!!! Bit out of my price range and I figured that he will be big enough for the real thing before I know it. He walked up to it about 5 times and jumped in. One time he even hit the pedal, I nearly had a fit and grabbed him out as he was taking off!

I think Aunty Jamie and I had a bit of a win with this truck though, he seems to love it!

Ready for home after a long weekend!

Not sure where his mechanical ability comes from but it isn't his parents!

Love these pair of cool dudes!

I got some lovely photos down the creek the other day but this is the only one I will share here.

Back home we did a little more baking. Justin and my 4th wedding anniversary and neither of us had bought the other anything, so I thought I would bake J his favourite cake..... but as I got to the end of the recipe, and had most of the ingredients in, I realised; I had no carrots!! Oh well, it was a good excuse to go and have a cup of tea and a catch up with my neighbour and get some! Thank you Bonni! Needless to say I have a very large grocery order this time as our fridge is bare! We are having poached eggs for dinner, that is how sad we are.

Had any outings lately? Have you noticed this change in the weather? Do you have generous neighbours that help out?

Extra holes!

Now I don't know about you, but after the Easter long weekend, I'm going to need a few extra holes in my belt. Good food and great company is what it has all been about this weekend!

Mum and Ash came for a visit along with my cousin and her other half from Brisbane which was wonderful to catch up!

My gorgeous mother and cousin Jess

We were laughing because we had to run to catch the sun rays.

My poor little G-man has had a bit of a rough Easter, cutting 3 of his molars and an upset tummy which meant not much sleep for us for a couple of nights. He was pretty sad above with a bad belly!

Above and below are looking back towards our house, you don't realise what a lovely mountain range we have behind us until you get away from the hill we're on.

Uncle Nashy

Justin, Ash and Nashy. Not much luck over the weekend I'm afraid! Only a couple!

Bit of a fog in the morning.

The afternoon before everyone left, we visited our furtherest fishing spot on the place, but the only bites we managed were from sand flies. Was still nice to get out and have a look around though. I was very surprised at how quickly all the recent rain has dried up.

These pair playing in the mud!

Grandma was demonstrating that mud is not to be eaten and to be "pppfftt" thrown away! Which G-Man thought was hilarious!

Not a very triumphant return!
I've recently joined a photography club in Rocky and I've been trying to improve some of my photos. I quite like the next few!

Grandma wins the prize for best present with this little beauty!

Seem to be doing a lot of town trips lately... it's hard work!

So apart from this.........

and this ..........

There is also a more legit reason why I need a few extra holes in my belt!

Yep we are expecting!!! Yay!!! Our little bundle of joy should be here by the 18th of October! We are both super excited and I'm sure Garrett will be too once he realises he will have a little play mate! I've been trying to keep well although I've had whooping cough for 9 weeks now and I think I've got another 5 to go before the end is near! So that put a bit of a wet blanket on things. But our scan went well and apart from the usual nausea and reluctance to eat anything but vegemite on toast, everything is going good!

So, how was your Easter weekend? Anything exciting or just quietly munching on chocolate? We have the Marlborough show next weekend so it's going to be a short work week for us with the working bee on Friday. The fun just never ends and anything goes!
