Autumn is in the air?

So Autumn is upon us, but the cooler climate is yet to arrive. So with the extended heat we are forced to drench our cattle again before winter.

Got to bring the old dears in to pull out the bulls and drench them. Plus get a few stray weaners that have wriggled their way back in with the mob. Had a handful of about 30 calves to brand that we had missed on the last round because they were either unborn or too little; so we branded those, and for the first time we selected a couple of bulls to keep. Oh well if they are no good, can always fix them up later. Were very blessed to have the mothers given to us as a wedding gift and needless to say we are very pleased with the calves. I think maybe I fall to easily in love with my babies.

My Bull
I know mine's rump isn't as good but I love him!

Apparently it's not too green to burn as I advised my pyro husband that it would be. Just love the smell of grass fires of an evening.

Early morning have brought fog and very heavy dew, which I must say, I'm not overly thrilled about. Hate getting my jeans soaked in the mornings and it doesn't seem to clear until after smoko.

Least the days are nice and clear once the fog has lifted. Not a bad office I work in.

Anyone would think it was Spring the way the insects are carrying on.
