Dinner time!

A Sunday, at home, alone, I thought I would have a day out spraying rats tail and fixing fences. So I cut a lunch and after fixing a flood crossing and doing a few access roads for GRT, it was lunch time. I picked the perfect spot (above) and happily ate my lunch. By the end I was a bit itchy, so I looked under my shirt......
Bit hard to see but you can probably guess what they are.
Apparently, I wasn't the only one who thought it was a nice spot for a bite to eat. After finding 4 under my shirt, I jumped back in the JCB and took off for home and a shower!! The ones in the photo are what I found when I got home! Dirty little heathens! So now I'm blogging and feeling nervously itchy, carefully checking each spot before I scratch!

Some more photos of out and about from the last couple of weeks.

Few misty shower around, the weather has been very strange and particularly for this time of year, very warm!

Pirate eating out of the horse's feed bin!

My new breast plate (beautiful anniversary present) on Sgt Shultz

Justin and I did a bit of mustering for the second round of branding, to get the few babies that were too small last round.
Miss Indy, being very loyal!

Never ceases to amaze me how much 'blood wood' sap looks like real blood!

Choco and Spanna (Anna), with mum looking in over the back.

You would probably be surprised at how difficult it is to get 3 puppies to pose for a photo while driving along!

 Some of our girls!

Mum and I found this little guy on our day out together spraying GRT.

If anyone can tell me what either of these trees are I would love to know. I'm pretty sure that one of them grows into a Mahogany tree.

Wynn Cassia seed!! OMG $45/kg I should be harvesting this!!

Rabbit Stew!!!

And so arrives the cold weather. Good time for some couch snuggling and also a bit of stew!

Sook!!

Tail and kidney!!!! YUMMO! Bit of rainy weather and I couldn't think of a better excuse!

Rabbit thought it was delicious!!!

Passed out after a big feed of ox tail stew and milk!! OMG! Poor, hard-done-by thing!

So I have always been interested in astrophotography and just lately I got a bit inspired. So don't be to critical, I'm still learning! But I like them!

Lots of fun to do that's for sure!

Beauty, beef and balls!

The week leading up to Beef Australia 2015, was a fairly hectic one. With the inevitable water troubles and rain which hindered our banding efforts (although we weren't complaining).
The change in weather brought some lovely rain (which I had predicted with my black cockatoos and horse tail clouds I might add). This meant that the calves we had pulled off to brand, had to wait until the morning so they could dry off.
I dunno why but I like this one!

My favourite time off day! I love the colours!

With the little bit of moisture, it was our last opportunity to burn this log heap we had been saving, and enough of an excuse to have a few nibbles and beer for a belated wedding anniversary celebration (2yrs).

Love these passionfruit flower blossoms.

My bacon and cheese scones!

Rabbit and Justin looking at funny stuff on his phone!

Celebrating ANZAC day and it was lovely to have a phone call from dad all the way over in ANZAC cove.

BEEF WEEK 2015

Mum in her pretty new beads from her birthday.
Nose to tail carcass dinner.... sorry i haven't photos of all 5 courses, but it was lovely just the same.

My only problem with the night was that, the point of the evening, had been to showcase cuts of beef that people do not normally eat. They demonstrated how these cuts came off the beast, which perhaps 25% of the audience would relate too. But they did not mention how any of the meals were prepared. So for me it was a bit of a let down in this regard. If you want people to use these cuts, then they need to know how to use them! Perhaps next time I will join the committee lol.... not!

International Chef Restaurant, which was a beautiful four course meal. Lovely to spend time with family and meet new people,

Eric with Ben O'Donoghue, the Aussie chef.
 Hat and Heels Cocktail Party.

Myself with nomes and Mango

Apart from the severe lack of ladies toilets, (I'm not going to tell you the lengths that were resorted to by some), and the difficulty of spirit drinkers, to get drinks from the bar; it was a lovely night.

Erin, Jamie and I

Erin is not a fan of the bulls lol!

Choco, feeling exactly like I do now that Beef is all over.

Rabbit also expressing my sentiments.

Oh well, all over for another 3 years!
