Friends, family and #$*$ ups.

I know I've said if before, but we are so lucky to have such wonderful friends in our lives and a lifestyle that is flexible enough to have visitors when the opportunities arise. Our dear friends Mel and H and their two boys Cobi and Zac, came for a visit from Springsure and we managed to squeeze a little photo shoot into their stay. They are so darn photogenic... makes it easy!

In the above pic everyone was laughing because I had this male emu and his two chicks coming up to me... and daddy didn't look very happy!!! I was freaking out a little!! Had to switch between checking behind me, to see if was going to be attacked and then back around to take the shot.

I love this one!
Was hard to pick my favourite! Such a gorgeous family and not just to look at! Generous, kind and loving people!

We've had a couple of afternoons where the weather has left a bit of colour in the sky, but unfortunately I don't have time to get to any other locations, other than right near the house because I'm normally feeding bub as the sun sets.

We also had a savage storm pass through a couple of weeks ago. We got some good rain over a couple of days 77ml all up. Did a bit of damage to some of the neighbours blocks but we didn't have any trouble other than the phones being out.

From my phone:

I think these clouds are supposed to mean rain in a week, so we will see how we go.

How photogenic is this kid!!!

Couldn't believe he could even move in these boots!! Cool dude!

Cuteness overload

I'm not sure what G-man thought about having a couple of play mates, he's pretty happy making his own fun!

Aunty Mel seemed to have the magic touch, Garrett doesn't usually take to females very quickly, but he thought she was alright!

Still got his grove on a bit.

Snuggles with these pair of cuties

Big smiles for aunty Mel

Boys off to catch a fish!

Visitors are a good excuse to try out a new recipe! Was pretty good!! Very unhealthy.
We had a bit of a trying day this past week. With our dozer getting itself in a spot of bother.

Eventually rescued by the tractor and copious logs positioned strategically under the tracks.

And I coped a rock to my back window as I was on my way into town with the trailer!! Expensive trip!

We also took a family photo in blue to pay our respects to the family who lost their daughter to suicide. Such a tragic, tragic thing for any family to have to endure and my heart goes out to them!

A few extra cuddles this week!

How has your new year started? How are your resolutions going?

I haven't mentioned, but I've been training myself to run this past 8 weeks and I've finally finished the program. I can now run for 36 mins straight, which for me, someone who's never been fit and I hate cardio... it's a fair achievement! So go me!

Hope you're all not dying in this heat!

Husbands, Lovers and Friends

What a wonderful Xmas we have all had, with loads of good food, great friends and a few presents (ok, who am I kidding, when it came to the two kids, there were loads of presents!).

After boxing day, we ended up with a full house, with Greer, Mango and their son Thomas coming from Springsure, my mum and step dad from Rocky and my cousin Jess and her other half Nashy from Brisbane. It was so wonderful to be able to catch up with everyone and we are very lucky here to have our own personal fishing hole at our front door to provide some daily entertainment for the boys.

I had the privilege of doing some maternity photos for both Mango and Jess, who are only 9 days apart in their pregnancies. Last time it was Mango and I that were pregnant together only 5 days apart, but this time we were 20 weeks apart and so we missed having most of our pregnancy together.

Thomas was such a little star and made our photography session pretty quick and easy. The sun wasn't really playing the game for us, but still managed to get a few nice shots in there. These are my favourites from our session.

Photogenic family!

Love this one!

It was a fun little outing, and nice for me to be able to get out of the house and take a few photos.

I felt pretty special being about to photograph my cousin Jess, especially when she was so reluctant and "awkward" as she put it. It made me think of the following video from youtube, if only we could see ourselves through the eyes of our husbands, lovers and friends, perhaps we would have greater self appreciation.

If it wasn't already obvious, having named my daughter after her, I think Jess is a stunner inside and out, naturally beautiful! See for yourself!

We even managed to rope DNash away from his fishing for a couple of photos! These pair are so darn cute.

Love this one!

So as you can see I had fun, and it was a bit hard to pick my favourites!

Photos from my phone:

I don't even know what we were giggling at, but we are always laughing!

I'm so excited!!! Just over 2 mths to go!!

Gma and Jess

As I said before, we are spoilt in having our own personal fishing hole and we did very well over the couple of days!

Perhaps the pros were having a break over xmas too and that's why we managed to pick up these little babies! DELICIOUS!!

Uncle DNash getting some smiles.

Dad and Co, watering the garden for Gma.

Gma and Jess

We visited cousins for xmas day and G-man had fun playing with their toys.

Love these pair of cool dudes!

A few days before xmas we went into town to do some shopping, for groceries and a few last minute things. I unknowingly dropped Jess's "pony" in the carpark. When I finally realised, I tried to put my already overloaded brain into rewind, to remember where it could have possibly been. Luckily, a phone call to the lost and found at the shopping centre and someone had handed it in! What an angel, I could have kissed them! Good to know that there are still some beautiful people in this world.

How was your xmas and new year? Our troops departed a day before new years eve and so with hubby and I both feeling a bit fluy, our new years celebrations consisted of a couple of episodes of game of thrones and some plumb puddin' with brandy sauce (you know to finish it off before the diet starts lol)!

Hope 2018 brings everyone everything they hope for. As for me, I'll probably just be the same ol' loveable, sarcastic SOB that I am every year 🙉 🙈 ðŸ™Š
