Australia This Beautiful Country

Sooo this month, we got to go on our first family holiday! Yay! We ventured down to Hervey Bay for a few days. Such a beautiful place to visit. Although I think I would prefer to go in the off season, when there isn't so many people.

Would love to have a week or more here just taking photos of this pier. It's so photographic!

We went for a day trip to Fraser Island. Was a massive day for the kids, and us too but it was well worth it and a great way to see some of the island, having someone else drive us.

Lake McKenzie

I had thought my arm was cut off when I had to send my camera away to be cleaned, but luckily Nomes let me borrow hers for the day which was awesome.

Central Station (old logging base)

Maheno Wreck

I loved this so much and could have spent longer here! I would love to do a wreck tour of Fraser Island, apparently there are 23 wrecks! How cool!

Yeh, that's al I'm going to say about that!

Eli Creek, I can't remember how much fresh water flows into the ocean every hour but it's something ridiculous! Too many people for me though!

Was a great holiday, but like all good things, they must come to an end. Although it's taken us a while to get back into the swing of things but we're back in full swing now I think.

From my phone:

View from our hotel room.

Someone love their daddy!

We were eating "Cake by the Ocean"! I made some fruit cake for our trip, so while the boys tried their hand at fishing, we ate our cake.

ICE CREAM!!

Cool little 'ray' holes visible from the pier.

Ferry Ride to Fraser

On our bus trip around Fraser! I'm so glad we took her car seat! It was so bloody rough! I had a sore arm just from holding her head while she slept.

Someone loved the water even though it was cold as hell!!

My kitchen helpers/ messers

Home from holidays meant we have a drive around and check out the place and look at the results from the 6 inches of rain we had while we were away.

Love this!! Talking about all things important, like pigs, dingos, roos and of course fish!

Cool Dude

Managed to get some of our babies branded this week. I'm a bit out of condition for 4:30 starts. Took me the weekend to recover. Was lovely to get out and about on a horse though and brand a few babies.

Thinks he's so funny!

Showing our guns for Australia Day

So Australia Day meant the traditional Lammos with mum, who drove out just to spend the day with us; oh and pie and chips for lunch! That night we headed to a BBQ at the neighbours for tea and so with a late night we are a bit steady today, but that's life.

I'm so over all this BS that's on the media lately about Australia Day. I'm sick of bludgers and people who think they're entitled! Can't everyone just get along and work for the dream like the rest of us.  I can't even watch the new anymore because there's so much rubbish on the media and everything is so opinionated. Nothing is objective these days, if you want to run the country, own a television station because that's what tells everyone how to think. Anyhow, I'm sorry, little rant.

I love this country and I'm so proud to call Australia home. Some days though, I just wish there were a few less idiots in it.

Hope you all had an awesome Australia Day, be kind to each other!
