Ka Kaaa

So I'm not too sure if this one is going to stick or not, but it seems like Ka Kaa is going to be my daughter's nickname. As Garrett can't say Jessica properly, he says Ka Ka and so; now we all call her Ka Kaa. And it was about time that I got her dressed up and headed out with my camera and took some nice photos of her.

Of course while I was busy photographing, the boys had to drop a line in.

G man is getting pretty good at it.

Now to decide which one I like best to put on my wall.

From my phone:

Hanging out with Dad

State of Origin night with Grandma, we won't talk about that!

Meeting the ponies.

Can't get enough of this kid!

The Rocky show this year was a bit sad to say the least; it always is the year that follows Beef Week, but this year was particularly bad because they moved the sideshow alley to a completely different location. I was actually quite pleased about it though because there was barely anyone there and we could let Garrett wander off a bit without being too worried about where he was.

Jess got to meet a baby goat in the petting pen. Poor thing was so damn full of food it was almost cruel! It could hardly move for the stomach on it.

She got a bit excited but!

And I got to go out this weekend for a hens party. We had a wonderful day out at the Races and I even had a couple of wins which I was stoked about. I bet on all the local female jockeys and in my last race I made $100 off a $10 bet so I was over the moon (I think I only just managed to break even though but it was all in good fun).

Jenna, Me, Jamie (17 weeks pregnant with baby no:2) and Erin

Wait till you're big enough to come too Ka Kaa.

I got asked twice if my hair was real, not sure if I should take that as a compliment or an insult.

I will admit that my head throbbed a little on the Sunday morning but it was a lovely opportunity to catch up with the girls and let our hair down.
Starting to get a bit chilly now, I see there are a lot of frosts around and I have the heater on at the moment! I don't handle the cold very well. Have you had any frosts? I love seeing the photos and I'm a bit tempted to get up in the morning and go and take some, but I'm not too sure about getting out of my nice warm bed!
Stay warm and I'll leave you with a funny that gets my husband and I giggling.

Winter is here.

I love this time of the year when the weather makes a change for the cooler, but I think I say that with every season, it's always nice to have a change. The clear skies make for some lovely photos and it's nice to be able to wear some of the clothes that have been hidden in the back of the cupboard for a while. We had a very small frost here the other morning but it's warmed up a little bit since then and it has been quite pleasant.

We took a family photo in green for the tree clearing awareness campaign that was on facebook a few weeks back. What idiots!! I'm not going to go into it here, but the new tree clearing legislation is about the dumbest thing since the live export ban! Those yuppies have absolutely no idea! Anyhow.... it's a bit difficult at the moment to get family photos with everyone looking. Oh well.

I know that these guys are bits of pests to a lot of graziers but there is something quite majestic about them and I do love to photograph them. Touch wood, we haven't seemed to have any calf deaths from wedgies that we've discovered for a while.

Mornings have cooled off a lot but it does make for some lovely colours. And when you have a restless soul in the early hours of the morning, it's nice to get out with the camera. Which brings me to one of my latest favourite songs Too Fast by Jason Aldean.

These boys got a visit from the vet the other day and they are a bit sore and sorry for themselves now. They were very well behaved though which was a good thing.

From my phone.

I know I've said it before, but if it wasn't for the photos on my phone, I really wouldn't know what we've been doing. It took us a week or so to recover from Beef week. We spent the first weekend that we've had nothing on in ages trying to catch a crab!

It was delicious!!!!!!!!!

Caught up on some cuddles with Ralphie who had been home with Dick while we were away.

AND the cooler weather means, fires!!!! Yay! Easiest way to win me over, fire and beer!!

Crab pot bait lol.
So two weeks after the Springsure Mountain run was the Rocky River Run and it gave me the opportunity to see the girls from Springsure again, whom I don't really get to see as much as I'd like to! We had a lovely night out together at the Vue in Yeppoon and the food was to die for!!! Will definitely go there again. Was so awesome to have a girls night out and we are so lucky that we have wonderful husbands that can help us to make it happen.

Dessert!! We ate everything else too quick for photos.

Before we even went out and Mel had her shoes off!!!

Kerrie Mel and Sheree!! Couple of top chicks!!

So Mel, Sheree, Justin and I all did the 10km Rocky River Run and we managed to do it in under and hour which was a pretty good effort I thought. Was a nice morning out and we went for a lovely breaky afterwards. I think I might be becoming one of those people who runs!!! OMG who would have thought.

Before photos

My darling husband bought me some flowers, just because!

And I come home to a special mothers day parcel from my beautiful cousin Jess! How spoilt am I!

It never ceases to amaze me at how much our creek changes over time. I wish I had a few spots where I had taken photos from every year so I could compare.

Someone, is loving getting out in the buggy and also loves their brother!

Not too sure about mum's driving.

Me and my girl!

Saaaaand!! It's everywhere!!

Sand doesn't taste very nice mum!
Sorry photo spam coming up but I just could decide which was the cutest and compared to her brother, Jess probably doesn't get as many photos. So I'm catching up!

And I love this one because it doesn't matter how gorgeous you are, at some point we all take a bad photo lol

My happy Buddha

So, that's what I've been up to! Goodness! How are you enjoying the cooler weather? Have you been busy? It is starting to get a bit dry here now. I am seriously procrastinating the house work. Think I might have to see if the boss will trade jobs for a couple of days. I have a hens party in a couple of weeks and Justin has a sausage sizzle in the army training area. So hopefully he will come back a few cool photos.

I'll leave you with this one love this guy!
