30 plus GST

Another year has passed and this gorgeous tree has once again shed all its leaves. Now as I'm writing this, it is completely covered in fresh green shoots. I will have to go and take another picture of it soon but as always I'm a little time poor.

So as the tree has shed its leaves, I've shed another year...... 33 years old (a third of a century). I decided, that as I missed my 30th because I didn't have the energy for it when Garrett was a little bub, that I would have a party to celebrate 30 plus GST.

So we packed up camp and headed down the creek for the weekend. It wasn't far to go, but it was a good atmosphere to be camped out and the best part was that we could go home for a shower!

I have since decided that this is the only way to have a fire, using a hollow log! It was absolutely amazing and as the nights were still rather cool, it was a long fire that allowed everyone to get enough warmth.

This little terra, bringing mum a beer! I think she thought that she would have a swig before I got to it.

The morning of the party was absolutely gorgeous with the bit of mist on the water and I feel as though my photos didn't do it justice.

The mornings were so lovely and still but from about 2pm-6pm the wind was pretty full on. Unfortunately, no one caught any decent fish and the tide wasn't big enough to make it to us, despite being on a full moon. The creek is just so silted up at the moment, needs a good flood to wash it all out.

The second morning was very foggy and made for warmer day. Still nice though.

Have been wanting to take photos of a sea eagle for ages and this fella was very obliging. He stayed near our camp for a good while so I could get a few shots.

He even got a fish.

Have a bit of a play with the above, but I'm not too sure what I think about it.

FROM MY PHONE:

So as always, I rely on my phone so that I can remember what I've been doing.

Love this mob!

Due to the ever increasing amount of silt forming in the creek, we had to erect an electric fence to stop our cattle from going across, where is previously hadn't been an issue.

One thing about an early morning jog is that the view is nice, although Dr says I have to stop for a while and to be honest, I'm not missing it..... running is not my favourite!

The big fella and I took a weekend out together and ventured up to Ingham. It was pretty funny because we were kid free and we had eaten and gone to bed by 8:30!! Showing our age!

We went to visit Wallaman falls and it was amazing! Well worth the hike, although I wouldn't recommend doing it when you're a bit time poor as we were because she's a pretty steep climb back to the top! My thighs were burning, but we made it in pretty good time!

It's apparently the longest single fall in Australia.

As we were so far north, I insisted that we go to Townsville for their seafood platter and it didn't disappoint. YUMMO

Always keen as beans this one! Mind's on the job!

Big fella got another one

Someone found the icing sugar we use for our cattle feed!

A guy from the country life took this one for us.

Big truckers!

Saw this one and it appealed to me!

Best fire ever!

Due to my having the party planned for some time, mum and I couldn't make it to the service of a very dear friend that had passed away earlier in the week. So we had a toast down the creek in her name and I think she would have liked that. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed greatly!

Camping is hard work!

I did a grazing table for the party, which I thought was pretty flash! Complete with prawns to top it all off!

Mum made me this unbelievable cake! It was absolutely gorgeous and tasted amazing!!!

This orchid was from a plant that I had previously gifted to mum and this was its first flower, which I thought was pretty cool!

I'm so blessed!

Best time of the day! Kids out, just chillin by the fire!

Gotta love ol granny over there with her blanket on... he he he

And just like that it was all over. As with a lot of things there's always the anticipation and build up of a party or celebration that is often followed by despondency once it's all over..... but there wasn't much time for that as a quick text from work had me off to do some nursing shifts, before I even had a chance to finish packing up camp. Luckily the kids and the big fella had it all sorted for me!

Freshly brewed coffee, from my coffee machine (b'day present from my wonderful husband) and fresh made bread and home grown eggs!!! OMG delicious! Just need to get my tomatoes growing and I will be right!

With everything being so hectic lately, with cattle stuff, my party, nursing shifts and J being away up the road to help the neighbours, a bunch of 'just because' flowers always seem to mean so much more. I am very spoilt!

Here's to the next 33 years! I truely feel as though this is the best time of my life and I am so happy to be where I'm at right now! Wouldn't trade it for anything!

Have a cracker week everyone and thank you to all of those who made it to my party, was so lovely to be able to celebrate with all of you!
