Cold Tea

It would seem that lately all I seem to get is cold tea. I must say, I've developed a bit of a taste for it. Not because I particularly enjoy cold tea but more because of what it represents in my life and every time I drink it I feel grateful. I'm grateful, because the reason that my tea has gone cold is because I'm too busy looking after my beautiful baby boy. The first thing I do in the morning after I breastfeed is make a cup of tea and sit down to express more milk for bub's farex. It just seems that for one reason or another I never seem to be able to finish that cup without it going cold. I am up and down like a yo-yo and it's not hard for me to do an average of 6,000 steps without even leaving the house once for the day. I'm not sure what I do all day and I have no idea what we did before we had a housewife (must have lived in a pig-sty with unfolded clothes, how terrible), but I do know that every minute I get to spend with that gorgeous little man is precious to me and every cup of cold tea is worth it.

There haven't been too many picturesque evenings this year which I think it partly because of the lack of cold weather.

This one is from on top of my the windmill.
Got some photos of the beast being quartered the other day. We normally do a paddock kill, but we thought we would try it this way this time. I should have taken the photos more often, but you get the idea.

This little gremlin has become a very messy eater! I have changed 3 sets of clothes today!

When I first saw these mesh, food eater things, I thought they were weird! But he absolutely loves it and I don't have to worry about him choking!

It's ok dad I'll be good for you!

My roses are flourishing at the moment.

I actually managed to grow this ranunculus

Trying to bribe people to come to the meeting for our local Rec Club, I made some fairy bread and sausage rolls...... The things you have to do!

Out and about.

Last week I decided I would try out a couple of new recipes, get a bit tired of the old ones. I made a ginger cake (behind) which was very nice, and I made a cardamom, rosewater cake with pistachios . The flavours were nice but it still need some perfecting I think.

Great Uncle Alan and Aunty Kaye bought Garrett this lovely book and shirt. They know him too well, the shirt matches his eyes and he is most certainly a very touchy feely boy, so he loves his book!

The other thing that has made me appreciate my cold tea lately; a friend of mine recently had a baby girl via caesarian. She had been unwell for the week prior to delivery and afterwards had been refusing antibiotics so that she would be able to breastfeed. A few days later she ended up in a very serious condition in ICU and the Drs had told her husband to prepare for the worst. She had influenza A and another nursing friend of mine who saw the chest Xray commented that they had not ever seen anything as bad......

I am so pleased to report that she is now in the recovery phase and although she still has a long road, we are all very relieved! I'm looking forward to having a cup of tea with her when she is out of hospital!
