Had a Win!!

This year I entered some of my images into the Salon of Excellence Queensland photo competition. It's held for the members of all the amateur photography clubs across Queensland. There are two classes (A grade and non-A grade) with a few categories for each and the above photo won the Mono non A grade category. I was pretty pleased with this results as the competition was good. I was a bit confused by the scoring though. The above photo and two below all scored 22.

Non A-grade People

These two photos however, only got "accepted" and did not place.

Non A-grade Open

The next four photos that I entered did not get "accepted" but they were all 1 point off the acceptance score.

Non A grade Social Documentary

I haven't been out with my camera as much as I would like lately. Seem to have lost my mojo a little. But here is a couple that I've taken.

We tried to burn the bamboo again, hoping we would get a kill, but no such luck! Was a bit of a fizzer!

Been wanting to do one of these rear view images for ages, but hadn't had the opportunity. I'm pretty pleased with this one.

This was very pretty to wake up to, although it didn't hang around long enough for me to get many pics, or much composition for that matter.

And I think I have found my new favourite subject. I just need to get some models now!

Need to find a way to get rid of the reflection.

From my phone:

Never ceases to amazing me how quickly the time rolls by with each post. We had easter and that feels like forever ago! My little munchkins have well and truely got the hang of the whole Easter thing now!

I was having a bit of a down day the other day... and at the suggestion of one of my closest friends, I went for a walk.

It helped! Bit of mediation and some fresh air works wonders sometimes!

And this little beauty was turning it on for me.

Not to mention coffee and chocolate!
I've decided that coffee is a bit like my love life, how I take it and how I like it aren't always exactly the same 😂😂😂

And love notes from my honey!

Makes my heart swell, these three!

I spent a couple of nights in town, doing a bit of overdue mandatory training for my nursing and the kids would Facetime with dad... this is a photo that kaka took while she was roaming around the house, carrying the phone and refusing to relinquish it! I love it!

When I'm rich and have my mid life crisis I will buy this!!

We also had Anzac day and we sent Cheers photos to dad and Dick! This year was my first dawn service..... yes I know don't hate on me.... I was never a morning person. Anyhow, it was nice despite the miserable weather. Luckily the rain held off long enough for the service to be over.

Smokos after the Marlborough Show are very elaborate

Grandma Sheree even blessed us with her presence and it was great to take the kids for a ride. I need to do this a bit more often now that G man is showing some interest.

Missy loves it of course!

Cheeky Rat

Gotta love the look on Ella's face

Been receiving a few photos in dribs and drabs from Ange, of the wedding. These are from Jody (I was busy talking to all the horses while they were photographing the bride).
Love this chick!

Big fella scrubs up pretty nice I reckon!
So much fun!!

Me, Margaret and Mum

Seems I've been busier than I recall. Went to a luncheon at Paradise Lagoons Campdraft. The guest speaker was Oprah Winfrey's chief of staff. She was absolutely amazing! Could have listened to her for ages!

Of course we had a few drinks afterwards and last night, I found the note below of the order that we would go to the bar with lol. I'm pretty sure the big fella had the same thing on his phone too lol.

We also went and tried to catch a fish a couple of weekends back, however there were no fish to be caught, yet all these massive prawns. So we had prawns for tea! Never seen prawns this big or this many in our creek! Yum!

Photo really doesn't do it justice!

"Oh No!! Grandma doesn't spoil the babies!!" Not at all!

My lovely mother's day breakfast! Talk about spoilt!

This cracked me up. I think she actually had a bit of an ear infection, because normally she's my groover!

He finally released this song!!!!!!! It's a cracker although I think I've fallen more in love with his acoustic version!

My Magnolia is in flower! I can't believe it's still alive!

Or my lavender for that matter!

Hanging out with G-ma

How cool is this!! Book me a ticket to China! I'm going!

Below is a few videos that I've taken over the past few weeks.

I've been a bit out of action lately and not able to exercise, which has been absolute torture (I know right, I've turned into one of THOSE people 🙈🙈). But I've finally been able to start walking again and it's so good!

Makes getting up early worth it!
Rightio, I'm going to sign off now! I'll leave you with some inspiration and a song! Have a ripper week everyone xx

I recently found this one by Imogen Clarke that I'm falling in love with, isn't it funny how sometimes just a line or a few words in a song will draw you in.
