Who would've thought??

I think it was a couple of posts ago now, but the above is a photo of Sarah and I from the hen's party cruise that we went on. Feels like it was forever ago! Weeeeellllllllll.... the wedding finally arrived. With the Marlborough Show ball out of the way, the next week was focused on keeping the bride destined to walk down the aisle (no mean feat!!!!!)  (Just kidding we actually had to hold her back to make her take her time lol)

The evening before we stayed at the Empire hotel.... we told the bride to go and have a nice relaxing soak in the bath, but to leave her undies on!!!!! She thought that locking the door might keep us at bay, but fortunately we have an experienced lock picker in our midst (aka Sarah) and a good videographer (aka our gorgeous flower girl, Bridie). So we crashed her bath!! I have no idea how we all managed to fit, but we did! Ange was saying "get out, get out so I can have my bath" but we weren't going anywhere until we had, had at least one beer! Was hilarious!

Pre-wedding drinks

Bridie and I looking out from our balcony. Was so lovely!

Me, Ange and Sarah!

I know I keep repeating myself, but I am so lucky to have such a great bunch of mates and I absolutely adore Sarah and Ange, it's so good to have them in my little circle!

We decided that, as it was typically "us", making a detour to the Great Western on our way to the wedding for a game of pool and some shots, was an absolute necessity!

Me and my hunky hubby!! He scrubs up pretty alright I reckon!

Loved this one.

What a cake!

The reception was in the beer garden at the Great Western and it was such an awesome venue! So relaxed and great fun!!

The list of my mother's "daughters" gets longer!

Here are a couple from the professional photographer Zara Lane Photography

And these are some that Ange's sister-in-law Jody, from ASHJO Photography took.

Who would've thought that I would get to see this gorgeous girl get married, let alone be able to stand beside her while she did it. What an absolute honour!! What a fantastic wedding and what a gorgeous couple of mates! How lucky I am!

But the day couldn't last forever and before I knew it I was back home, in full swing to prepare for the Marlborough Show!!!

I don't think you can truely appreciate the amount of work and effort that goes into running a show until you take on one of the executive roles. I even had to gift wrap prizes!!! SHOCK HORROR!! I think I managed ok though!

I spent the Thursday cooking and trying to prepare some entries for the baking section of the show, as this year there was some great prize money to be had. Unfortunately I missed out on the big money, but I did pick up a first for my relish and gluten free cake and I think I got third for my marmalade.

The big fella also entered a cake into the "man cake" section and he picked up a 3rd place which I was pretty happy about. I'm not sure if I was more happy that he beat the president and other vice president or just that he got a place!

Love this pic of Bill, what a cracker!! "bugger those flimsy plastic ones"

So much work goes into preparing everything for the show and the pavilion is always so lovely. So much hard work and I can't thank these girls enough for all that they do!

Chloe
Chloe, is our gorgeous treasurer who basically carried me through the day because I had no idea what I was doing. Team effort I suppose. I wonder if I can con her into staying on for the next few years!

All the hard worker in the kitchen with the P n C

Erin, our very lovely school work judge.

Mr President (Lou) chatting with our pavilion ladies.

Carol Chippendale, one of the lovely horse stewards.

Grandma has been our godsend, looking after the munchkins for me while J and I were busy over the 3 days required to set up, hold and clean up after the show. She even managed to bundle them up and bring them in to the show for a look around.

My little terror, wasn't letting go of her ice cream

Poor old Chief, I think he was either a bit fat, or a bit over it this year because he only managed to come second and it wasn't even really that big of a jump. I bet on a dog in the calcutta that looked like a winner, but did my money!!! Oh well. Least Chief coming second helped me pay for my loss.

President, treasurer and secretary. We all look a bit over it I think.

Cheeky bastards, won the calcutta.
Love this lady, although I don't get to see her enough!

These were my first place getters for the show. I had a couple of other wins, but these were the main ones.

Thi pic got grand champion of the show.

But another year had can to an end. Who would've thought that I would end up being the secretary. I'm still not to sure how that happened!! All I know is that I have a long list of 'thank yous' to be sending out and a freezer full of left over cakes, slice and biscuits left over from all the baking!

And if we hadn't had enough on our plates already, mum and I flew down to Brisbane for a few days to visit my cousin Jess and my aunty Kaye. Was a lovely relaxing week though.

I booked us all tickets to see "Top End Wedding", it was a pre-screening! We all got a bit excited when they gave us nibblies and champagne and choc top ice creams! We are so easily pleased. Oh don't bother, by the way, omg, I was so disappointed. But that's just my opinion!

Anyhow, my song list is a bit short at the moment as I haven't been at home but I heard this one for the first time on the radio yesterday, so it might be my new winner God's Country by Blake Shelton.

Also mum is reading one of my all time favourite books called "Fortunate Life" by A.B Facey! If you haven't read it already, read it! It doesn't matter what walk of like your from, it is an amazing life storey.
