It's mine, all mine!

Beauty in the Bush.
This week, I now have 100% of my own blood YAY, bit of a milestone. As blood cells only survive for 120 days, it can be certain now that the 22 units of blood products that I recieved 4 months ago, are now completely replaced with my own. So I would like to give a big shout out to all those beautiful blood donors out there, without whom I would most certainly be dead. So Thank You with all my heart.

My first attempt at night photography. Need more practice I think.
Meet "CHOWWOW", upon meeting this chunky little fella, we decided upon a new breed. 'Chow-wow', a Wagyu/ Charbray. The photos may not do him justice but he was definitely a chucky little one.

Update on "The Rabbit", turns out, she is a bit of a poser!

This is all the one plant, a giant aster, very beautiful, although only 1 survived!

My roses are going crazy despite the heat.
"Hmmm, the hottest day of the week, what shall we do? Oh I know...."

My pile... looked bigger in real life.. notice I didn't take a photo of Justin's pile.. (it was bigger)

Nothing like a nice clean grid, lets hope it stays that way.

Luckily our bulls are pretty honest. This tree was not helping to keep them separate from the girls.

It's a hard life, but someone's got to do it!

Meet "Rabbit"

Very at home.

So this is "Rabbit". A very lucky rabbit. I will not tell you how we came by this little lady, but I have had her for a couple of weeks now and she is sucking well, so hopefully, she will grow into a beautiful little pet for us. As well as subdue some of the nagging maternal urges.

Our fence is finally finished this week..... YAY!!!! Now we have a laneway from one end of the property to the other. Extremely handy, and will cut down on a lot of manpower. This has long been a dream of dad's and it feels good to be able to finally finish it.

Having resisted the urge of working so close to the crab-pot holes for the duration of the fence building, we decided to try our luck on our last day. Unfortunately the tides are too big and crabs are too few, we not only came home empty  handed, but the tide buried two of our pots. Bugger! Oh well, just have to have some chip and dip to celebrate the occasion.

Checking on our cows we saw this beauty. She's a round as she is tall poor dear!

Tried to get some footage of the big tide, but we were too late. Oh well next time.

Maybe on the new moon I will try again.

Luckily Justin has been keeping the lick up to these little first calf girls of dads while they are up in the timber, otherwise they might not be in such good condition.

This girl was so funny to watch, she stuck her nose right into it and snorted it everywhere. They get a bit partial to their lick, that's for sure, especially when you can just about pat them while they eat it.

We had 17ml on Monday afternoon, just enough to put a bit of a green tinge around the place.

Pickings from the garden.

And the vege patch, made a nice potato and leek soup. As well as rhubarb jam (the jury is still out on that one).

Interesting vegetables I seem to grow.

Justin snapped this calf trying to lick the tyres.
Cat looked like I felt after last weeks liver damage.

Whattaweek.. a post; about a post!

Had to change my blog title, after the awesome suggestion.

The help! Giving us a hand.

Seeing that strainer post at the end of a long day is always a bonus.
So this week there has been mostly fencing. Now the video shows one post. But when you have to do this for a whole fence-line and the ground starts to get really hard and dry. It can be a bit like bashing your head against a brick wall. The difference between 5-6 mins/post and 10-12mins per post, takes a hell of a toll on your days achievements.
Nice to look back.
Try not to look ahead.

Taking a selfy to see how much dirt is on my face.

Fortunately the week was a little broken, with the 10-80 baiting program which was a nice day out. A small token of the day has been left with me, but I'm waiting for a milestone before you hear about that one.

So with the monotony and misery of the hard ground and slowed fencing I decided to make an effort to take a photo each day of something beautiful.

Heading home through the forestry. (Monday)

Hard to get a photo in a hurry, but this was a baby emu. You can just see him in the bottom left. (Tuesday)

(Wednesday)

I loved this. (Thursday) had to stop Justin from puttin it down the hole, so I could take a photo lol.

So then for Friday, with a very hurried day of work because I had to pack up and go; I didn't get a chance to take any photos, until the night time. Then I realised that these were probably the most beautiful of all. It is such a special thing to have such special and down-to-earth mates, something that is worth treasuring. So I hope I'm not incriminating anyone by putting these photos here and that I'm not breaking some rule about "what happens on girl night stays on girl night", but here we are.

There was dancing.

 Love these pair!

Just a really great catch up for the girls.

My gorgeous and weirdo mother, eating an orange, (not even her orange), it was won in a game we played.

Bit of kung-fu fighting (luckily no one was injured... well maybe a few hamstrings got stretched)

The awesome trio!

Can see now why I had a headache the next day!

The circle got smaller.
And eventually, I think at something like 4am, we all managed to find our way to bed. Was a terrific night with friends and can't wait to do it again next year. We managed to raise almost $1000 between the group, to go towards female cancer research/ treatments. So that was a really awesome effort and credit to our host Fiona for putting on such a beautiful night. I think my liver is still in shutdown a little bit, but well worth it. Breakfast the next day of home smoked salmon, home grown and smoked maple bacon as well as poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, all washed down with a few beers was the sure cure until about 6pm that night. Bring on next year!
